White Tropical Wedding At The Grand Lady

Posted in: Austin Texas Weddings, Real Weddings

When Nhu and Duy mentioned that they wanted an all white tropical wedding resort atmosphere for their family and friends on their wedding day, we got more than ecstatic. As some of you know, we are from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, so creating a tropical vibe was very exciting for us.

Once we did our initial chat and got to know Nhu, we knew that a modern but elegant tropical wedding resort vibe with minimalistic style would be perfect for her design goals and ideas.

As we continued to work together and got to know them more and more, our hearts melted! We learned that not only are they madly in love but they are made for one another. They are high school sweethearts that got love struct in 4th grade at River Oaks Elementary School. They became a couple in 12th grade. On their 9th anniversary, Duy took Nhu blindfolded back to the River Oaks Elementary school library, where it all started, and made a surprise proposal with all their family and friends. So romantic! Their love story made us even more excited to design for them because we genuinely enjoy unique romantic stories like theirs. Keep reading to learn about the beautiful tropical wedding bouquet, sweetheart table design, and more.

A Romantic Dainty Tropical Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place at the beautiful Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church. We did a simple greenery-filled aisle and beautiful lush tropical tall arrangements that perfectly framed their “I do.”

The White Orchid-focused Tropical Bridal Bouquet

Nhu’s gorgeous all-white-floral and greenery bridal tropical wedding bouquet was composed of white orchids, china mums, calla lilies, roses, delphinium, palms, monstera leaves, cocculus, and beautiful ferns. It had a minimal cascading effect while providing an elegant and simple style. Nhu loved it, and so did we! Silk and Glow were responsible for making Nhu’s ravishing bridal look. She looked absolutely stunning! Her bridal look was the perfect balance between glam and natural look.

As for the bridal party, Nhu went the non-traditional route; instead, she only had her maid of honor. As a result, we created a simple yet pretty bouquet that beautifully complimented her elegant traditional dress.

It was an extraordinary and romantic traditional Vietnamese Catholic Wedding Ceremony. Their happiness and excitement were captured in every picture, but most importantly, their union was official, and a phenomenal reception was only fit to celebrate their incredible love story.

An Elegant Tropical Wedding Reception at

The Grand Lady Austin Texas

The stunning reception took place in the astonishing Grand Lady, where modern meets history. The Grand Lady has a gorgeous old mansion filled with charm and ornate details, a true architectural masterpiece perfect for the bridal party to get ready and stay the night. In addition, their reception hall has a crisp modern space designed for versatility.

Guests were welcomed to a dainty cocktail area and entered the hall with a beautifully styled entrance table. We created a gorgeous tall trumpet arrangement onsite-installation that wowed the guest as they would find their seats and drop their gifts off.

For Guest tables, we went with a simple yet beautiful tropical-inspired modern foam-free centerpiece design on some tables and a resort-inspired white lantern design on others. Everything looked tropical, elegant, and stylish with a minimalistic approach like Nhu and Duy wanted.

The Romantic White Tropical Sweetheart Table

We designed a romantic, elegant, open-draped backdrop with a lush greenery arrangement for their sweetheart table. Framing their area and giving it a very romantic feel without taking away from the beautiful scenery view through the hall’s massive glass windows. We also added white tropical wedding-inspired foam-free low floral arrangements with various candles to provide a romantic ambiance. We also added decor accent tables with floral arrangements and vignettes that brought together the romantic sweetheart table.

The evening was a spectacular celebration of love between family and friends. The incredible and professional team at Kim Son Restaurant managed the delicious multi-course dinner. Drinks were catered by Lone Star Drafts. While the entertainment was brought by Wedding Unlimited with their phenomenal DJ skills and fun photo booth. The bride and groom ate, drank, and danced the night away with all their friends and family member.

Brian and Rachel with Blue Events & Co ensured every detail was covered, and everything ran smoothly. We absolutely loved working with them and would love to work again soon with such a professional, talented and kind team of wedding planners. They went above and beyond for the couple, their guest, and every vendor.

At the end of the day, we were so happy, honored, and thankful to be able to design every detail of this unforgettable and romantic love story and their white tropical wedding-inspired celebration.
